Bangwe police launches manhunt for murderers

Police in Bangwe have launched a manhunt for assailants who murdered a 47-year-old woman in Bangwe.

The woman is identified as Oliva Majiya, from Mtweya village in the area of Traditional Authority Kadewere in Chiradzulu.

Oliva who was staying alone at Mvula in Bangwe, was on October 29, 2021 found dead with bruises around her neck and back, and dumped at Wisiki graveyard in the township.

She was taken to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital where she was pronounced dead, and postmortem revealed that death was due suffocation secondary to strangulation.

Meanwhile, police is appealing to the citizenry to come forward with information which may lead to the arrest of the culprits.
