Winiko’s anti-Chakwera protest resumes in Blantyre

Finally peace has returned in Blantyre and anti-government protesters have regrouped and are marching to Blantyre Civic Offices.

The protesters are being led by former United Transformation Movement (UTM) National Youth Director Bon Kalindo.

The protesters are singing in praise of Kalindo, while denouncing hardships they say Malawians are facing.

Eerier in the day, Southern Region Police spokesperson Edith Kachotsa announced that Kalindo has cancelled the demonstrations due to chaotic scenes in Blantyre.

But Kalindo denied the claims, saying law enforcers were forcing him to cancel the demonstrations.

The protesters are against rising cost of living in the country.
