Kachaje’s fate set for tomorrow

The high court sitting in Lilongwe will tomorrow hear an application by the Office of Ombudsman to vacate injunction obtained by the #Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA).

Ombudsman Grace Malera has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

MERA obtained the injunction on 10 November, 2021 stopping the Ombudsman from releasing findings of an investigation into recruitment of Mera Chief Executive Officer, Henry Kachaje.

The injunction was served in the midst of a press briefing where Malera was about to read out the contents of the report.

It is alleged that Kachaje was appointed on the post when he did not have the required qualification of a master’s degree.
