Man arrested for attempting to defile

Police in Mponela, Dowa are keeping in custody a 38 year-old Masautso Patrick for attempt defilement.

According to the father of the victim, he saw his daughter running into his house while naked. As she wanted to put on another dress it’s when the complainant asked her what had happened.

The victim revealed that the suspect who is also his brother wanted to defile her in the garden.

He rushed to the garden where he also found that the suspect had also grabbed another girl who is also a friend to the victim. He was arrested and taken to Mtengowanthenga Police Unit.

The suspect will appear before court soon to answer the charge of attempt defilement which contravenes section 138 of the penal code.

Masautso Patrick comes from Kayala Village, Traditional Authority Mponela in Dowa District.
