Court against adjournment of Collins Magalasi case

Chief Resident Magistrate Patrick Chirwa has warned Collins Magalasi’s counsel Andy Kaonga against delaying the case through adjournments, in the fuel testing van case, saying this affects delivery of justice.

Chirwa made said this following a complaint by director of public prosecution Steve Kayuni that the tendency is disrespectful of the court.

Kayuni prayed to the court to intervene and bring speed to the case.

Magalasi, a former Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority top-most official is being accused alongside a procurement officer Bright Mbewe, for dubiously procuring a fuel testing van that cost the energy regulatory body 704 million kwacha.
