Three people are reported dead after being hit by speeding vehicle at Luviri in the Northern District of Mzimba.
Northern Region Police spokesperson, Maurice Chapola has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Chapola, the three pedestrian were hit by Honda Step Wagon.
Chapola said driver Saiton Moyo, 29 lost control of the vehicle, which had one passenger on board.
Moyo bolted immediately after the accident and is still at large.
“Well-wishers managed to get the three people to Jenda Rural Hospital where two were confirmed dead and the other died upon arrival at Mzimba District Hospital,” he said.
