High Court Speaks Out On Ashok Kumar Suing Martha Chizuma

Registrar of the High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal Gladys Gondwe has confirmed that Zuneth Sattar’s Business Associate Ashok Kumar Sreedharan has sued Anti-Corruption Bureau Director-General Martha Chizuma for defamation.

Sreedharan also known as Ashok Nair has sued Chizuma demanding damages for the alleged defamation.

“Yes there is a suit in the Lilongwe Registry. He is demanding damages for defamation and it is in connection with the leaked audio,” she said.

The audio, which went viral a few weeks ago, was allegedly recorded by someone to whom the ACB DG opened up about the challenges she was facing in doing her job.

It resulted in President Lazarus Chakwera reprimanding Chizuma for allegedly flouting the dictates of her position.
