Pakistan Court To Give Verdict on Imran Khan’s Action

On Monday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan adjourned without any decision on Imran Khan’s case to dissolve the parliament over the country’s leadership.

According to the opposition lawmakers, the court had no power to take part in the National Assembly’s issues and by coming with no solution results to “open coup against the country and the constitution.”

On Khan’s action, the court was supposed to rule against his move to dissolve the National Assembly and many justices had expressed concern on the situation and had doubts on the constitutionality, constitution experts said.

Mr. Khan claims that it is the American conspiracy to remove him from the office using the Members of opposition but the opponents have accused him of using opposition members under the pretext of an anticorruption campaign.

Yasser Kureshi, a postdoctoral fellow in constitutional law at the University of Oxford, commented that if the court takes too long to issue verdict it may give enough time to Khan to weaken the opposition before the general elections and this may give chance to the military which has ruled over Pakistan for 75 years history to intervene.
