Kenyan Goes on a Rampage in India, Stabs 7

A Kenyan national was arrested on Wednesday, June 1, after he went on a rampage and stabbed seven people in the streets of Bombay, India.

According to police attached to Azad Maidan station, the suspect used a knife to attack innocent victims along the streets.

The detectives, who were alerted of the events took swift action and detained the 50-year-old suspect after retrieving the weapon.

The seven people, who sustained injuries to the chest, neck, and hands, were rushed to nearby hospitals

“He attacked numerous persons and subsequently the locals present there informed the police control room, after which a team went to the spot to take control of the situation.”

“The reason behind the attack is still unknown. We have detained him and questioning is on,” an officer told the media.

The officer affirmed that the Kenyan would be slapped with attempted murder charges.

Upon interrogation, police reported that the suspect had left the house after a verbal altercation with a female friend and then proceeded to the Oval Maidan, near Bombay High Court where he went on a rampage, stabbing anyone in sight.

One of the victims who spoke to the media revealed that the Kenyan national had also tried to attack the police once they arrived but was ultimately subdued.

“He tried to attack me near my neck, but I defended myself with my hands. I sustained injuries to a finger on my right hand. He later attacked more people and when police arrived, he tried to attack them as well,” the victim stated.

The police team managed to retrieve CCTV footage in order to analyze and find out the details that happened prior to the incident.

Further, the officers would cross-check the suspect’s records from the Foreigners’ Regional Registration Office.
