Fuel crisis hit Lilongwe again

Some motorists in Lilongwe have complained of spending more than three hours waiting for fuel.
At one of the pump stations in Area 49, some motorists say that they want government to come in the open and admit that the country is facing a fuel crisis.
Last week officials from Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) and National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) told the nation that the country has more than enough fuel in its reserves.
Despite government’s position, reality on the ground has proven otherwise.
The the capital city continues to face persistent fuel shortages.
There has also been fuel shortages in Kasungu for some days now.
