A businesswoman has been killed in a road accident which occurred Saturday evening in Nsanje District and injured three others.
The woman has been identified as Annie Mapesa aged 40 and the driver as George Adamson aged 23.
The district’s Police Spokesperson, Sub Inspector, Agnes Zalakoma confirmed the development.
Zalakoma said the accident involved a Scania Van registration number PE 6463, it went off the road, overturned and blocked the road near Matundu Primary School towards Nsanje Boma.
“Adamson lost control of the vehicle which carried 100 bags of sweet potatoes.” She said
Mapesa hailed from Sande Village in the area of Traditional Authority Ngabu in Chikwawa district.
