Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Machinga Central Constituency has died on Tuesday at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre after.
United Democratic Front (UDF) General Secretary, Kandi Padambo confirmed that the former MP Shaibu Kaliati died after battling a long illness.
Padambo said Honourable Kaliati as diligent member of their party, whose contribution to the country’s development will not be forgotten.
Kaliati served as an MP from 2009 to 2019, and as UDF’s deputy national director of youths from 2012 to 2018, before it was restructured to a youth wing.
