Prophet David Mbewe asks Chakwera to resign over white elephant promises

Prophet David Mbewe of Living Word Evangelical Church (LIWEC) who is also founder of the new movement called Freedom of Worship and Economic Liberation Movement (FOWEL) has asked President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera of Tonse Alliance to resign for failing to fulfill campaign promises.

Prophet Mbewe said this during a Crossover service held on Saturday night monitored on several media outlets in the country.

Addressing congregants during the service, Prophet David Mbewe openly said President Chakwera is running the country based on lies.

“Chakwera and his Tonse Alliance promised Malawians ahead of the 2020 fresh Presidential polls that Malawians will buy a bag of fertilizer at MK4,500 but now a bag of fertilizer is going at MK70, 000.00. You promised Malawians three meals a day, you promised Canaan and you promised to end corruption but nothing is really happening on the ground.

“This government is surviving on lies. Pitani mukaliuze boma kuti ndilaboza and when am saying this am not defending the blue government. Blue government promised us Singapore, ku Mangochi kuno kuli Singapore? Malawians are tired of being lied to,” said Prophet Mbewe while attracting ululation from the congregants.

Responding to rumours that he want to contest as President in the forthcoming 2025 Presidential pols, Prophet Mbewe said he is not a politician.

“I am not a politician but am here to redeem the country. I know that some top blasts after hearing this they will cook up something for me to be arrested or killed, am not afraid because am already dead,” added Mbewe.

Effort to talk to State House Press Officer Anthony Kasunda on the matter proved futile.
