ACB Arrests 5 in Dowa District for Suspected Abuse of Office in Affordable Input Programme

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two chiefs and three other individuals in Dowa District for suspected abuse of office in the implementation of the Affordable Input Programme (AIP).

The suspects, Julius Chibwe (Group Village Headman Mtepatepa), Chinsewu Mandalasi (Village Headman Mtepatepa), Gladys MacDonald, Edita Sadya, and Oswald Kalimbakatha, are all from Dowa District.

According to a statement by ACB spokesperson Egrita Ndala, the suspects are alleged to have taken National Identification cards from beneficiaries and redeemed the inputs for themselves.

The five suspects are currently on police bail and will appear in court as investigations continue.
