Dausi asks Mutharika to call for convention before July 2

Opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Mwanza Central Nicholas Dausi has asked former President Peter Mutharika and estranged party Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey to call for elective conference before July 2, 2023.

Dausi franked by several DPP lawmakers made the call during a media briefing held at Golded Peacock Hotel in the capital Lilongwe on Thursday.

Dausi, who is DPP’s Publicity Secretary, said the political party can only survive if people are allowed to vote.

Commenting on the endorsement of Mutharika by the party’s Vice President for the North and Central region, Dausi said they were not consulted in all the endorsements.

He has since asked all party members not to be intimidated by anyone as they have a right to vote for the candidate they need.
