After successful festival last year, organizers of Khulubvi Arts and Cultural Festival also known as Port Herald says this year will run from July 1 and 2, 2023 at Nsanje Prison Ground.
Speaking to media during press briefing at Nyamithambo Arts Palace, Executive Coordinator, Eric Trinta said this years festival will centre on revamping education as the standards of education in the Shire Valley is dwendling.
Trinta observed that the region is worth with natural capital like more game reserves, national park, sugar and meat which could made its people very rich but it so sad that schools are dilapidated states and cited the first schools opened in the country by missionaries like Chididi, Lulwe and Matundu.
According to Trinta schools need to renovated, planting solar powers whereby air conditions, fans should installed including providing motivation incentives to teachers.
The Executive Coordinator revealed that keyboard was introduced emanating from ulimba which is originated from Ulimba, from the Shire Valley.
Chairperson for organizing committee, Peter Million concurred with Trinta saying education is the key for everything and challenged all native from Nsanje and Chikwawa to come together and work out on education.
Last year, the festival bringing the dabate of changing the name of the district to other names like Khulubvi or Nsanja, saying envy and jealous to both national and Shire Valley enemy number one who needs to be eliminated which Senior Chief Tengani concurred.
This years events will be spicied up by variuos arts like stand up comedians Antono and Alufisha, J – Maga, Thifu and big headliners arts from Blantyre and Lilongwe.
This years festival will be run on the theme “Revamping Education Standards in the Shire Valley and its infrastructure is possible, its our responsibility’ Time for soul searching and rebuilding!”
