The High Court in Lilongwe is this morning slated to rule on whether Late Professor Peter Mumba’s wife Anne Banda has a case to answer or not.
Banda was arrested and charged with murder on suspected food poisoning of late Mumba, who was a lecturer at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources LUANAR.
Professor Mumba died on 25th April 2020.
The arrest followed postmortem after exhuming remains of Prof. Mumba in Mzimba and the process was done by pathologists; Prof. Ndalama George Liomba and Dr Charles Dzamalala.
The results revealed that the death was due to acute poisoning from chemical compound meaning it was not by natural cause.
Meanwhile, the Lilongwe High Court is expected to make its ruling on the case this morning.
