A joint permanent commission of Malawi and Zimbabwe has called for an institution of more trade facilitation measures to eliminate barriers to trade and investment.
Acting minister of foreign Affairs and International Trade for Zimbabwe Dr. Joram Gumbo, made the remarks in Lilongwe ahead of a signing ceremony of memorandum of understandings for the benefit of people from the two nations.
Gumbo said there is need cooperation of on the economic front should continue as it is a foreign policy priority.
He also emphasized on the need to work on the double taxation of businesses between the two countries in an effort to foster the welfare of citizens from the two nations.
Commenting on the matter, Nancy Tembo Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Malawi said the bilateral engagements are crucial in fostering economic growth.
