Former Judiciary spokesperson Mlenga Mvula thanks Chakwera for pardoning him

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has pardoned former Judiciary spokesperson Mlenga Mvula.

Mvula were among over 2,000 prisoners President Chakwera pardoned as part of 59th Independence Day Celebrations.

He was serving a 30-month jail term after the High Court convicted him and Reverend Daniel Mhone for corruptly soliciting about K10.7 million from United Methodist Church between 2016 and 2017.

Mvula has since thanked President Chakwera for his gesture.

“I thank the President for considering me in a special manner. I missed my family and I missed friends. I am back in the fold,” said Mvula.

Earlier this year, President Chakwera also pardoned former commissioner of Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Linda Kunje and former Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for Central region Uladi Mussa.
