Chakwera to travel to Tanzania on Tuesday amid fuel crisis

President Dr.Lazarus Chakwera is scheduled to attend the Africa Heads of State Human Capital Summit Meeting scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on 26th July, 2023.

This has been confirmed in a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation made available to this publication.

According to the statement, the plane carrying President Chakwera will depart at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) at around 5pm tomorrow.

Chakwera will return home on Thursday.

The trip comes amid fuel crisis in the country as most fuel pump station across the country have runout of the commodity.

The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) attributed the challenge to lack of forex in the country.
