Mutharika sneaks out of the country

Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that former President Peter Mutharika who is leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has left the country to unknown destination.

Mutharika and former first lady Gertrude Mutharika left the country through Chileka International Airport.

State House Press Officer Robert Kalindiza has confirmed of the development, saying former former President informed the state house of his trip as per requirement.

But Kalindiza could not disclose the purpose of the trip.

DPP spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba has also confirmed of the development but also refused to disclose the purpose of the trip.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Mutharika is in Dubai for medical trip.
