A 30 year old man has been found dead after being electrocuted at area1, Illovo compound in Chikwawa.
Chikwawa Police Station Public Relations Officer Sergeant Dickson Matemba identified the deceased as Alfred Bela of Matelekera Village Traditional Authority Lundu in the district.
He says in the wee hours of 14 December,2023 Bela went to steal electrical cables where he climbed a pole and started cutting cables before being electrocuted.
“The matter was reported to Nchalo Police Post whereby Police officers together with medical personnel from Illovo clinic rushed to the scene”, said Matemba.
According to Matemba, after conducting a postmortem, it was revealed that the death was caused due burnt wounds secondary to electrocution.
