Residents in the Maseya area of Chikwawa are reportedly living in fear following brutal attacks by a gang of criminals led by a man known as ‘Nyadaufe’.
The gang has been terrorizing villages, robbing villagers, and assaulting people with machetes.
Efforts are underway by the police to arrest Nyadaufe, but so far, the gang has evaded capture.
Some villagers have reported incidents of the gang snatching money and goods from shop owners and impounding motorbikes and bicycles.
Police have, however, urged any person with information regarding the gang to come forward in order to help arrest the criminals.
