A suspected thief only identified as Henry has been beaten to death by an angry mob in the eastern district of Salima.
The habitual thief was apprehended by members of the community early this morning when he attempted to steal from a certain house.
Well-wishers tipped the law enforcers who rushed to the scene but they were blocked by the angry mob from taking the suspect to police.
The suspect is reportedly dead.
Malawi Police Service is yet to comment on the matter.
