A 30-year-old man, Nyozani Phiri, has committed suicide in Thyolo, a week after being in hiding for killing his fourth wife, Lucy San, aged 30.
Thyolo police spokesperson, Sergeant Rabecca Kashoti, said Phiri murdered his wife after a quarrel on February 4, 2024.
Kashoti said Phiri has been found hanging from a mango tree in a maize field at Phalira village, senior chief Nchiramwera.
She claimed that the police found a suicide note in his pocket, indicating that he murdered his wife because he was bewitched.
