Man Nabbed For Impersonating Police Officer And Theft By Trick In Chikwawa

Police in Chikwawa have arrested a 34 year-old man for suspecting him being allegedly posing as police officer and being beind mobile money fraud.

Spokesperson for Chikwawa Police, Sergeant Dickson Matemba,has identified the suspect as Chimwemwe Fole who hails from Thobwa Village Traditiona Authority Ngabu in the district.

According to Matemba, Fole was arrested following numerous complaints alleging his involvement in stealing from individuals by posing as a police officer.

Matemba said, “The suspect on Thursday this week demanded K300,000 from another victim to scrap a case of his relation. Upon the victim’s agreement to meet, police officers were alerted and promptly arrested Fole at the scene.”

The suspect will soon appear in court, to answer charges of theft by trick and impersonating a police officer.
