Two MCP MPs tussle over Maliro in Lilongwe (watch video)

There was commotion on Thursday at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) mortuary after it was revealed that two Malawi Congress Party (MCP) lawmakers bought two coffins for one corpse.

The fact of the matter is that a certain person who was based in Lilongwe South East Constituency died at Kamuzu Central Hospital and the MP of the area Steven Baba Malondera bought a coffin and he also offered transport.

In the same vein, Member of Parliament for Dedza Central Willard Gwengwe who according to inside sources is scheduled to contest for the constituency in the 2025 polls also bought a coffin which was also delivered to the bereaved family.

This did not please supporters of Malondera retaliated by dumping the coffin bought by Gwengwe at KCH mortuary ground.

The supporters went further to threaten Gwengwe not to come closer near where the funeral ceremony of the deceased will be conducted.

The angry youths claimed that Gwengwe’s time for the constituency is over.

Effort to talk to MCP spokesperson proved futile.
