Gravediggers Tied to Tree for Collecting Funeral Contributions in Lilongwe

Two gravediggers in Kabwabwa, Area 25, Lilongwe, were tied to a tree for collecting funeral contributions without the chief’s consent.

According to the eyewitness, the individuals involved are Yusufu Steven, aged 19, and Patrick Tambula, aged 31.

The incident occurred in Area 25B (Kabwabwa), where the suspects initiated the collection of funeral contributions without the chief’s approval.

Upon questioning, the young men, who are unrelated to the chief, began to act evasively until they were apprehended for proper interrogation and offered no defense.

Currently, the individuals are detained at Kabwabwa cemetery awaiting the chief’s ruling. They hail from the Kasengere and Dzenza areas.
