Police in Mzuzu have apprehended five Congolese nationals for illegal entry

According to assistant Mzuzu police station Spokesperson Constable Mercy Chitonde the arrest occurred on April 09,2024 when they wanted to board a taxi to Lilongwe.

Chitonde has identified the 5 as Thelesa Welongo 40, Rosa Welongo 15 , Merci Welongo 6, Kabwana Welongo 4 and Malonga Welongo 2.

“Police detectives from Mzuzu Police station on the said date received a tip that the above foreign nationals wanted to board a taxi to Lilongwe.

” The officers responded quickly to the Matter and apprehended them”, said Chitonde.

Meanwhile, the suspects have been charged with illegal entry and they will appear before court after completion of investigations to answer the charges.
