Joseph Makwinja elected Mayor of Blantyre City Council

Former deputy mayor, Joseph Makwinja has been elected Mayor for Blantyre City.
The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) councillor has amassed 16 votes against 14 of Gertrude Chirambo from a total of 30 ballots cast.
Makwinja succeeds Wild Ndipo on the position.
He will be deputized by Isaac Jomo Osman who has been elected on the post.
