Fisherman Dies After Crocodile Attack at Shire River Dam in Balaka

A 42-year-old man died after being attacked by a crocodile at a dam along the Shire River in Balaka District.
Police spokesperson in the district, Gladson M’bumpha, stated that the man, James Daveson, went to the dam with two friends to fish yesterday when he was attacked by the crocodile.
He mentioned that Daveson’s friends and others nearby tried to rescue him, but he sustained severe injuries.
M’bumpha added that the hospital report indicated that the man died due to excessive blood loss and drowning.
