Scorchers Knocked Out of 2024 COSAFA Women’s Championship After 2-0 Defeat by Zambia

Malawi’s women’s football team, the Scorchers, exited the 2024 COSAFA Women’s Championship after a 2-0 defeat by Zambia’s Copper Queens in the first semifinal at Isaac Wolfson Stadium in South Africa.
Zambia scored both goals in the first half, securing their place in the final.
The Scorchers, who were the defending champions, will return home tomorrow, leaving the competition open for the remaining teams.
Zambia’s striker, Ochumba Oseke Lubanji, was named Player of the Match for her outstanding performance.
