Burundi and Rwanda Nationals Detained in Dowa for Illegal Firearm Possession

Two men, Njenda Tembo from Burundi and Abasi Barakatu from Rwanda, are currently in police custody in Dowa on suspicion of possessing firearms and ammunition without the proper authorization.
According to Dowa police spokesperson Alice Sitima, the authorities were alerted by members of the public, leading to an investigation that uncovered the weapons. The two men were apprehended at the Dzaleka Refugee Camp, where they were residing.
The suspects are expected to appear in court soon to answer to the charges.
