Workers at the Supreme Cleaning Services company who work in the maintenance of the parliament building in Lilongwe are on strike for not receiving their salaries for five months.

According to these workers, they are suffering in different ways for not receiving their wages.

The senior officials of the company said that they are unable to pay the workers – this is because the parliament does not pay them during this period.

But the speaker of the parliament, Ian Mwenye, said he would investigate the matter thoroughly before commenting.
