16-Year-Old Girl Commits Suicide Following Dispute Over Boyfriend’s Marriage Plans In Mulanje

A 16-year-old girl, Elanive Chakwiya, has committed suicide.
Police Deputy Spokesperson in Mulanje, Hawa Juma, said that the girl took her own life due to a misunderstanding with her boyfriend about his desire to get married.
Juma added that the medical results showed Elanive died from difficulties in breathing.
The deceased hailed from Matekenya Village, Chief Juma, in Mulanje District.
