2 Die in Road Accident on Liwonde-Zomba M3 Road

Machinga Police have confirmed the deaths of two people following a road accident that occurred on Monday along the Liwonde-Zomba M3 Road.
According to Machinga Police spokesperson Western Kansire, the accident happened when a minibus, attempting to avoid potholes, collided with a motorcycle that was carrying a passenger.
“The motorcycle was being ridden by Mussa Bwanausi, who had a passenger, Billiat Cassim. Unfortunately, both sustained severe injuries and were pronounced dead upon arrival at Machinga District Hospital,” Kansire said.
The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old Mussa Bwanausi and 28-year-old Billiat Cassim, both from Katete Village, under Senior Chief Malemia in Zomba.
Authorities have since urged road users to exercise caution to prevent further accidents on the Liwonde-Zomba M3 Road.
