Man Arrested in Mangochi for Allegedly Selling Charcoal Without a Permit

Police in Mangochi have arrested a 31-year-old man, identified as Mark Yusuf, on suspicion of illegally selling charcoal without the required permit.

According to Mangochi Police spokesperson Amina Tepani Daudi, the suspect was found in possession of 212 bags of charcoal and 27 planks of timber.

Daudi explained that the arrest followed a tip-off from concerned members of the community who reported the illegal activity.

Yusuf, who comes from Chomba Village under Traditional Authority Mponda in Mangochi District, is expected to appear in court soon to answer charges related to the illegal trade.
