President Lazarus Chakwera is presiding over the graduation ceremony today at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) in Blantyre.

A total of 344 students will be receiving their certificates, diplomas, and degrees at the event. Of these students, 237 are male and 107 are female.

One of the graduating students, who is also a well-known musician, Dick Shumba, popularly known as Dictator, has encouraged young people, especially upcoming musicians, to work hard not only in their music careers but also in school.

He added that education helps artists make better decisions, use their talent wisely, and find more opportunities.

This is the second graduation ceremony for MUBAS since it became a standalone university, separate from the University of Malawi.
