Thyolo Man Nabbed for Running Illegal Clinic, Possessing Medical Drugs Without Permit

Police in Thyolo have nabbed a 30-year-old man, Medison John, for allegedly operating an unlicensed Clinic and being found in possession of Medical Drugs without a permit.
The district’s police publicist Sergeant Rabecca Kashoti says on June 17, 2025, detectives had information that John was operating an illegal clinic at Makwasa in the district.
Kashoti says the officers visited the scene where they found and seized the quantity of assorted medical drugs and supplies such as, 21 bottles of Vitamin Syrup, 18 bottles of ABNL Nosal drops, 29 bottles of Benzathine, 11 bottles of (ARVs).
They also found 1 bottle of Liquid Metro, 1 bottle of Vitamin A supplement, 1 bottle of Benzyl Benzanoate, Packets of Emergency Pills, 7 Packets of Liquid LOFNAC, 2000 tablets of Bufen, 2000 tablets of Amoxicillin capsules, 1000 tablets of Vitamin B, 500 tablets of DCN, and 80 disposable Syringes.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the drugs, while the suspect will appear before court soon to answer the charges contrary to Sections 40 and 41 of the Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority Act.
