Police arrest man over sexual intercourse with girl child in Nkhata Bay

Police is Nkhata Bay have arrested Chancy Rafiki Kamanga 32 for allegedly having sexual intercourse with his seven year old niece.
This occurred on June 30, 2025 at about 1800 hours at Chataika village in the district.
The suspect is the uncle to the victim who is a seven years old girl.
On the date of the incident, the survivor went along with the suspect to buy local tobacco.
On their way back, the suspect coaxed the girl with k1000 and had sexual intercourse with her.
She later reported the matter to her mother who later reported the incident to police.
The suspect is currently waiting to appear before court when paperwork is completed to answer the charge of having sexual intercourse with a girl child.
The Police strongly urge uncles and male relatives to refrain from sexually abusing young girls in the district as the law shall not spare anyone.
Kamanga hails from Zinjonjo village traditional authority Zilakoma in Nkhata Bay.
