Information reaching faceofmalawi.com indicates that Two students from Mzuzu University have been arrested by Luwinga Police for allegedly defrauding Chisanga Complex of over K4.8 million through fake mobile money transactions.

Sources indicate that the two students, known for their lavish lifestyle and often referred to as “rich kids,” frequently dined and drank at the popular Chisanga Complex in Mzuzu. They reportedly sent forged mobile payment confirmations to avoid paying their bills, effectively scamming the establishment over an extended period.

“The cash that they have scammed Chisanga has amounted to 4.8 million Kwacha. With the way these two guys were living their expensive life, this really explains it all,” commented Holli Mwitha on Facebook.

Their arrest has sparked concerns that the scam may have extended to other local bars, shops, and marketplaces, as reports have been circulating about similar incidents involving fake mobile money transactions.

The suspects are currently in police custody at Luwinga Police Station as investigations continue.
