Four Arrested for Different Offences in Mzuzu

Police in Mzuzu have arrested four male suspects allegedly connected to various crimes in the city.

The suspects are Omega Msinde, 18; Zephani Phiri, 34; Noel Chitaya, 23; and Adam Chisi, 34. They were arrested on July 15, 2025, in different townships within the city.

In a bid to reduce crime, Mzuzu Police detectives conducted an intelligence-driven operation to apprehend wanted suspects, successfully arresting these individuals.

The first suspect was found in possession of a Samsung mobile phone stolen from Whitone Harawa earlier in July 2025.

The second suspect allegedly broke into St Peters Catholic Church, stealing a sound mixture, speaker, and solar battery, all of which have been recovered.

The third suspect is linked to several robbery cases, and an unregistered Kinglion motorcycle was recovered from him. The fourth suspect allegedly stole a Sienta motor vehicle engine head while working at PVHO, and the item has also been recovered.

All the suspects will be taken to court soon after completing the necessary paperwork to answer charges of theft, breaking into a building and committing a felony therein, robbery with violence, and theft by servant, respectively.

Police in Mzuzu are assuring the public that they will continue to provide their best services in ensuring security in the city.

Msinde hails from Traditional Authority Njolomole in Ntcheu District, Phiri and Chitaya are from Traditional Authority Mpherembe in Mzimba, while Chisi comes from Traditional Authority Chisikwa in Kasungu District.
