Suspected Murderer Arrested in Zomba

Police in Zomba have arrested a 34-year-old man from Thondwe in connection with the murder of Florence Mangiza’s mother.
Zomba Police spokesperson Patricia Sipiliano identified the suspect as Yamikilani Macloud, of Kunsiya Village, under Traditional Authority Mulumbe in Zomba District.
“Reports we received indicate that Macloud entered the house of Emmanuel Sabuneti with the intention to rob him,” Sipiliano said.
She added that Macloud is suspected of striking Sabuneti on the head with a machete.
Police further believe that Macloud then assaulted Sabuneti’s mother, Florence Mangiza.
Following the attack, Mangiza was taken to Zomba General Hospital, where she died while receiving treatment.
Macloud was later located and arrested in Blantyre.
