Unknown criminals have broken into the Area 18B residence of Counsel Jabulani Maseko, making away with several valuable items.

In a footage recorded by House CCTV, the incident happened yesterday, 26 August 2025, around 12 noon while he was in Blantyre for his grace week preparing for exams.

He confirmed the development in a statement posted on his Facebook page, saying the burglary has disrupted what was supposed to be a peaceful period of study.

“While I am away in Blantyre preparing for exams, my home in Area 18B, Lilongwe, has been broken into, and several belongings have been stolen. This is not just about material loss; it is about the invasion of personal space and the insecurity it leaves behind,” he said.

CCTV footage reportedly captured two unidentified men carrying out the break-in and away with two loaded bags

Among the stolen items are Mavic Pro Drone, Laptop and JBL Big Red Speaker

Maseko added that he is still reconciling the full extent of what was taken. He also appealed to the public to report any suspicious activity that might lead to the recovery of the items and the arrest of the culprits.

“The reality is that such incidents are becoming increasingly common in Lilongwe. Our homes, where we should feel safest, are now vulnerable to repeated acts of theft. Thieves must not be allowed to roam freely, terrorizing families and violating homes with impunity,” he lamented.

Police are yet to comment on the matter.
