Vehicle Carrying Sugarcane Workers Involved in Accident on Mwanza-Kwa Bereu Bridge

Information reaching this publication indicates that a vehicle transporting workers from sugarcane estates in Nchalo was involved in an accident this morning on the Mwanza-Kwa Bereu bridge in Chikwawa District.

According to eyewitness Christopher Bondo, who was at the scene, the accident occurred at around 5 a.m. as the vehicle was traveling from Bereu to Nchalo.

Bondo stated that the number of people injured—and their identities—was not immediately known.

Chikwawa District Police spokesperson Dickson Matemba said they had not yet received a report on the incident at the time of writing and requested more time to investigate.
