Three people have died while eleven others sustained injuries in a road accident that occurred at Malomo in Ntchisi District.
Ntchisi Police Public Relations Officer Sergeant Salome Zgambo confirmed the accident, saying it happened in the Nkhotakota Protected Forest area at a place called Mtayamphasa along the Nkhotakota–Kasungu M18 Road.
According to Zgambo, the victims were traveling in a Toyota Sienta driven by Alex Chinthona, 29, who was heading from Malomo towards Nkhotakota with 11 passengers on board.
“Upon reaching a slippery section of the road, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to speeding, causing it to overturn and get extensively damaged,” said Zgambo.
