One-Year-Old Boy Dies After Parents’ Fight in Ntchisi

Police in Ntchisi District have confirmed the death of a one-year-old boy who died after being injured during a fight between his parents.
According to Ntchisi Police spokesperson Salomy Zgambo, the incident occurred on November 2 when the boy’s parents, Esnart Magomero (18) and Andrea Khefasi (24), were arguing over a family matter.
During the altercation, the child was carried at the back of his mother when Khefasi struck his wife with a stick, accidentally hitting the boy on the head.
The couple reportedly took the child to the hospital and falsely claimed that he had fallen.
However, well-wishers alerted the police, leading to Khefasi’s arrest.
He is currently in police custody and is expected to appear in court to face murder charges.
