Football fans in Malawi say they are enjoying the heightened competition in this season’s TNM Super League, describing the campaign as one of the most unpredictable in recent years.
Supporters who spoke to local media said the identity of this year’s champions remains unclear, unlike previous seasons where the title was often decided with several matches still to spare.
The excitement comes amid mixed results for the two league frontrunners on Wednesday.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, who sit top of the table, were beaten 2–0 by Creck Sporting Club in a surprise defeat that has intensified the title race.
Mighty Wanderers, second on the log with 56 points the same tally as Bullets, were held to a goalless (0–0) draw by Chitipa United, failing to close the gap at the summit.
While both teams are locked on points, Bullets maintain their lead on superior goal difference, a key separator in the standings.
The Malawi flagship league is scheduled to conclude on 20 December 2025, according to organisers.
Analysts say the tight contest has boosted fan engagement and renewed interest in domestic football, with supporters now eagerly watching every remaining fixture.
