German Musical Healer ‘Sammie Sandro’ Set for Exclusive Healing Session in Lilongwe

Renowned international musician and sound healer Sammie Sandro is set to arrive in Malawi from Munich, Germany, this Tuesday, January 13, ahead of a highly anticipated therapeutic performance in the capital.
Speaking with Face of Malawi, multidisciplinary artist Keitumile Kawilima, expressed that the event is born out of a synergistic connection between two artists who share a deep-rooted, eccentric, and Afrocentric approach to creativity. Keitumile, who is alds a prominent figure in the local spoken word scene, curated the session to serve as a therapeutic space for the Lilongwe community, using art to address personal trauma and foster interpersonal connections.
Sammie Sandro, who arrives from Munich on January 13, is a celebrated performer at international yoga festivals where he specializes in music designed for meditation and spiritual wellness. His visit to Malawi marks a rare fusion of international sound healing and Malawian oral tradition.
“The idea was to help build a healthy community, connect people with their roots, and help heal personal traumas collectively through thought-provoking art forms,” Keitumile told Face of Malawi.
The lineup also features wellness expert Kay de Silva, who will lead a specialized yoga session, blending the arts with physical and mental health. The event is organized in collaboration with Dr. Qabaniso (Q) Malewezi, the award-winning poet and owner of Kweza Africa in Area 3.
