Malawi’s award-winning adventure pioneer, Mervis Maigwa widely celebrated as “Travel with Mervis” has once again pushed the boundaries of African exploration. In a viral update shared with her followers today, January 12, 2026, Mervis documented her heart-stopping experience at the infamous Devil’s Pool on the lip of Victoria Falls.
Currently on a high-octane tour of Zambia, the “Warm Heart of Africa’s” favorite explorer proved why she holds the title of best destination promoter. Standing at the precipice of the 108-meter drop, where the Zambezi River plunges into the abyss, Maigwa described the moment as a pinnacle of her career.
The Devil’s Pool is a natural infinity pool accessible only during the dry season (typically ending in mid-January), when water levels are low enough to allow a safe but terrifying swim to the very edge. Guided by experts, Mervis navigated the rushing currents to peer over the basalt lip of the world’s largest curtain of falling water.
